Case study: Practical training for the real world
Featured student: George Donnery
IFSE course: Canadian Investment Funds Course (CIFC)
Over the years, the Canadian Investment Funds Course (CIFC) has proven to be the most popular of IFSE’s courses, and with good reason.
The CIFC meets the proficiency requirement set out by the provincial securities commissions for mutual fund registration. So, if you want to become an advisor who can sell mutual funds to clients, the CIFC is the course you want to take. However, many more people are interested in this course because they want to enter – or advance in – the financial services industry.
George Donnery is a great example. He’s a Senior Customer Service Representative at CIBC, thanks in part to the specific knowledge he gained by taking the CIFC.
George’s advice for other students taking the CIFC
“I suggest that students take advantage of all the ways that the course facilitates learning (e.g., videos, tutorials, online content) to broaden and deepen their understanding of the course materials.”
How has the CIFC helped George in his day-to-day job?
